Run in a variety of shoes
Run in many different shoes, with different types of cushioning and different drops. This is a Mithradizing Tactic to prevent the poison of one type of heel drop or cushioning from causing an overuse injury, and to allow you to train the fascia to bear the impact of different types of shoes in different ways. This will make you more adaptable as a runner.
Additionally, the latest research suggests that Minimal Shoes Do Not Reduce Impact Forces, but instead that our bodies make adjustments to the loading on the foot and leg depending on the amount of cushioning under our feet, presumably by changing the way that we land.
